WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

Fantastique! ★★★★★
“I have taught French for 30 years and was skeptical about this app until I tried it. It is unique in its approach. When English words are used to highlight a sound similar to a French sound, the learner simply clicks on the letter in the English word to hear a native speaker pronounce that sound… Learning sounds within words is the most effective way to improve pronunciation and this app is replete with examples to help the learner avoid the pitfalls of French pronunciation…”

Great! ★★★★★
“I learnt mandarin as a kid, but always had difficulty with some of the sounds. The teachers had a hard time explaining how to pronounce the sound, and you either heard it and was able to replicate it with your lips and tongue, or you were just stuck. This app is great, because it gives you the English equivalent sounds! Ive been refreshing my pronunciation with this, and it really works. I like the example words that come with the sound. Best pinyin tool yet.”

WHAT THE APP DOES

Learn Spanish the comfortable way.

Systematically build a strong foundation on how to pronounce all the sounds of Spanish. Decoder clearly presents the phonetic rules of the language by offering multiple examples for each sound and then further breaks down each word into phonetic components. By using carefully chosen English approximations, the app lets you comfortably build up Spanish words from English sounds you already know.

While others offer phrasebook or dictionary-style apps that stress memorization, Decoder seeks to develop a deep understanding of the languages phonetic rules so that youll eventually be able to read and pronounce almost anything on your own.

With a carefully selected and limited set of examples, repeated engagement with these words will help you establish connections between the context and pronunciation. Youll also find as a bonus that these new vocabulary items will effortlessly become ingrained in your memory.

Pros and cons of Decoder SPANISH (Mexican) Pronunciation Guide app for iPhone and iPad

Decoder SPANISH (Mexican) Pronunciation Guide app good for

After downloading more than 10 different foreign language apps and being disappointed with almost all of them I discovered Decoder from Greenhorn Media. The Spanish version is super easy to use even if you have no experience with the language whatsoever. The best part of this app is you can actually start speaking spanish and (pronouncing everything correctly too!) literally within seconds of downloading the app. That the best part...usually there is a long learning curve and its weeks before you can utter your first word (and even then youre probably saying it wrong)...but with Decoders English Approximation youve got a perfect shortcut to speaking the language....Highly Recommend!! A+ App....Looking forward to Greenhorn releasing more apps in more languages....
Super helpful and really accurate pronounciation. This really kicks Rosetta Stones a*#! so helpful when I try to practice my Spanish and nuianced/tailored to Mexican pronounciation. Clean and easy to use UI. I highly recommend this to anyone learning a language. Decoder is offered in a bunch of languages so def check them out!
It is a very good program, you wont learn Spanish with just the program but it is a good companion to lessons. One thing I would change is you have a female read the word and the male break it down. It seems like there is a slightly different pronunciation but other then that Its very useful.
This is by far the best pronunciation guide on the app store. I have the french version as well and liked it so much that I also picked this one up too. If your goal is to learn the correct way to say the words, look no further, this app will really help.
The decoder works great. Had to shut down and restart to get vocal sound to work. Helped me to speak difficult words. The app Makes it easier to speak words that are not even in this app. Thanks.

Some bad moments

Im having trouble with the audio. The audio doesnt seem too be working. Can someone please help me with that?
